root root for the home team!

We've had a nice week. Sharon get's a little more steady on her feet every day so we're focusing now on her posture and making sure her muscles don't get tight and also on helping her get into standing. She's developed quite a sense of humor too! She actually plays tricks on me and makes jokes too...i'll be in trouble with her and RJ in the same house!

Here is a picture of Sharon with daddy and Great Gram. She just loves her Great Gram and gets a kick out of her. She continues to bring such joy to Gram's home when we visit and every guest there feels like they have a personal stake in how Sharon's doing. It's really neat!

And here she is at her first baseball game!!!! We only have minor leagues here (farm team for the Marlins) but today they played the BlueClaws (farm team for the Phillies) and we were invited to a sky box so it was quite a nice first time for Sharon! She actually made it through the entire game. Here she is getting some tips from Pop Pop. (with Namon ready to catch a fly ball...)

Happy Fourth

Hello and Happy Independance Day!
This first picture is not from today, but was too cute to pass up! Cousin Anna hauled (literally) Sharon all the way to the top of the McDonald's playland so that she could go down the slide and Sharon loved it!
Today we took Sharon to her first parade downtown and she did well. It was an exercise for her startle reflex with all the noise and activity. She was nervous and on edge but made it through (and we got to see Great Gram who was riding in a bus with folks from her assisted living home).
Then we had a little picnic here and the cousins decided they wanted to have a little parade themselves. We made a "float" for Sharon as you can see and she was quite pleased with herself!

In other news, i have been meaning to put a picture up of her in her hip brace but keep forgetting to take one. A few of you have asked for updates about her hip. The truth is, we really don't know any more now than we did when we first got the brace. We won't know if it's working until she has more x-rays in the fall. In the meantime, she wears it at night and at nap time and is a trooper. It is very bukly and uncomfortable and she has had to figure out a totally new way to sleep. but she doesn't complain. Please continue to pray that this brace does what it should so that she doesn't have to have surgery. She has come so very far with walking and moving and the thought of her losing all of that because of surgery is just depressing! That and the fact that it's major surgery and will create scar tissue in her little unscarred body... Thanks for keeping that in prayer! We hope you enjoyed your holiday!
Peace,
Jaye, RJ, and Sharon I.
