She speaks! Maybe....

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! We hope yours was very nice. Our was quite fun and even relaxing! The weather was gorgeous so we were outside a lot. Grandpa Baer came down and had a great visit with Sharon. She (and the dogs!) loved playing ball with him and RJ and I got a lot done around the house while Sharon was happily entertained.
Last week I took Sharon to get weighed. Our pediatrician has said that i can bring her in at any time...well, she weighs 17.13!!!! She finally broke the 16 pound mark, and by a lot! I met an 8 month old this week who weighs almost twice that, but for Sharon that is fantastic!
We are working very hard at getting Sharon to talk...there have been glimpses of words that have come out, but as soon as she figures out that we want her to talk, she clams up mightily. Tonight she was playing with her cousin Zac and said "Ball" three times...i'm glad he was there as a witness because we probably won't hear that again for awhile. She's starting to mix up her sounds and make some exciting noises...But i am convinced that even once she learns to talk, she is going to wait until she is good and ready to let us hear anything.
She's just doing great...she is tough, she is funny, and she works so hard to accomplish tasks that we all take so much for granted...what a neat kid!

a multi-purpose trip

Well, it was quite a couple of weeks. Sadly, my uncle John Waldeyer, a man who was larger than life, yet quiet in many ways, passed away. Sharon and I were fortunate enough to be able to attend his memorial service with many members of the Connor family and to spend a week with the relatives in PA. Uncle John will be missed by many many people, but i'm sure he is having a great time in a non-partisan heaven :)
Prior to going to PA, RJ and Sharon and I met for our annual trip with my best friend and her family. We were able to enjoy some wonderful weather in Washington DC and introduce them to the world of geo caching.
Here we are at the White House

Here is Sharon on her first bus ride with Molly
I was very blessed to have been able to attend an early Thanksgiving feast at Aunt Joan's...so many relatives were there!! Sharon is up in the left corner next to Uncle Lowell...i have to admit that i was a little weirded out to be sitting in the "mother" seat at a table where i spent most of my time at the kids' table!!!
Here is SHaron playing with Uncle Fred, Aunt Lorrie, and Jake...we had some wonderful visiting time with them!!! Posted by Picasa
