growing girl

Here are a couple of new pictures. Sharon enjoyed playing cards with me and Anna (notice her sitting up like a big girl!), and just hanging out with Anna. She loves her cousins and they are so good to her!!
RJ and I had a chance to ski/snow board this past weekend in Blowing Rock and it was very fun. Cold, windy, but fun! Sharon enjoyed staying in by the fire...who's the smart one in this family??
She's continuing to eat very well, handling just about everything we put in front of her. She's so proud of herself too! And she'll eat just about anything, as long as she can pick it up and feed herself. Sippy cups are a thing of the past...she refuses anything that is "babyish", wanting only what RJ and I are eating or drinking out of. She is a riot!
We're praying that she figures out how cool mobility is soon. She seems so close to "getting it", reaching for toys, and almost rolling to where she wants to be...she's not there yet and it could happen tomorrow or in months! God only knows...We keep thinking that she is going to figure out how to scoot in a sitting position, but the PT is thinking that she may actually figure out crawling (which is much better developmentally). It's anybody's guess. The only thing certain is that Sharon will do it only when she is ready!!
In the meantime, there is football to watch. Sharon is going to have to do some dual cheering in the next couple of weeks, for her Daddy's Steelers, and of course for her own Panthers...
God Bless!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hello and i hope the holidays were wonderful for you all!!!
We had a great Christmas and then headed to San Diego and spent a week with RJ's aunt, uncle, and cousins. Sharon proved herself again to be a world traveler. She handled the time change well and did fabulously on the LONG plane rides. She is something! I realized that she has taken 10 trips and she's only 9 months old!!! She is happy to be home though and really missed her cats.
She also had an eating breakthrough while in CA and we're thrilled that she is eating all kinds of tablefood now. We had another test scheduled for this week which I cancelled...gladly!
So she had a week or so off from her therapies, and now is back in full force. Both PT and OT are determined to get her moving so they're working her hard. She is so stubborn though...the OT and I were talking today about how that is going to serve her so well in a couple of years when she will need lots of determination to accomplish things, but for now it's stopping her from doing things that she is capable of. But we have to laugh at her because her stubborness is very cute! For example: she has proven time and again that she can sit up by herself for over a minute. But as soon as therapy starts, she will NOT sit up for anything, making it hard to work on subsequent activities....But, she keeps us all laughing and we are sure she'll get there eventually...
I'm sure that at this time next year, we'll be just amazed at how far she has come...so we'll enjoy the journey that 2006 will offer! And we hope to see many of you during it!
love and bless
Jaye, RJ, and Sharon I.
