Merry Merry! I haven't wanted to post anything because i love pulling up the page and seeing that last picture...it may be my favorite ever!
Sharon and I took a trip without Daddy to PA for the past 4 days to visit friends and family. Sharon was incredible and a trooper through weather delays, traffic, and COLD...I am wiped out though! I don't know if i'll attempt that again without RJ...
Sharon had a fabulous time hanging out with her friend Molly. She also had a great time with Great-Uncle Fred. She and Fred are truly kindred spirits. One of the first things he said to her was "don't worry Sharon, there are no physical therapists here!!"...I know he can understand her need for a break from it all! Lorrie, Greg, and I had a great time watching Fred putting pegs into a peg board so that Sharon could grab them and throw them...
We also had a wonderful time visiting at Aunt Joan's. Seems like everyone was there and it was so fabulous to be part of that! By that time Sharon was a little worn out from meeting so many new people, but she really took to her second cousins who were very sweet with her.
Overall, it was a busy weekend but a wonderful one. And today Sharon seemed to be so much more grown after all of the time with other kids...In fact, in therapy, she actually made some pretty significant progress with her sitting. We have been working hard to get her to catch herself when she starts to tip, and today it seemed to start to"click" for her. Yay! The PT said, "you should go away more often"...and we are! It's off to San Diego next week!
I'll get some more photos up here this week...God bless all of you and safe travels to those of you who will be on the road for the holidays.
love

9 months!

Can you believe she is already 9 months old??? I sure can't. Today was her check up at the doctor. She's still a small fry at just under 15 pounds, but is quite long! We (I) was so happy not to get any shots today...whew! That and the fact that her head is still growing made this the best appointment we've had to date. Her head is still not even on the growth charts, but at least it hasn't completely stopped growing, which is a HUGE relief. HUGE!!!! Her soft spot is still a tiny bit open, which again is a big relief. We certainly want that dear brain to be given as much of a chance to grow as possible...
The doctor does share our concern about her not being able to handle anything but baby food so i think we are going to have another test done. This one will NOT be a barium swallow and will be done by people who actually understand babies, so we'll see...
We've had a couple different assessments done over the past month and all are showing that she's at a 7-9 month level for most things except gross motor (no shock there), so that has been affirmation of what we already know. During PT we've "kicked it up a notch" to try and get her out of this plateau. She's not too happy about it, but is already making progress.
So, that's about it for now...thanks for continuing to check in. We have some great Christmasy pictures that i'll get up here soon i hope...she's got a ton of wild hair that is adorable!
love to all
